Banana bread has become an integral part of modern cafés, even our grandmothers got a taste for it! We have developed a vegan recipe with oat drink for you, it will be just as delicious with any milk. You can find this recipe and many more in our Recipe Losbox Everyday Kitchen.

40-60 minutes | for 1 banana bread

☐ 400 g flour (spelt or rye)
☐ 3 tsp baking powder
☐ 3 tsp cocoa powder
☐ 100 ml sunflower oil
☐ 200 ml oat drink
☐ 3 bananas, ripe
☐ 4 tbsp honey, liquid

at will
☐ Dark chocolate, chunked
☐ Raisins
☐ Nuts (e.g. cashew nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts etc.)


1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Brush an approx. 30 cm long loaf tin with oil or margarine.

2. Put the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder in a bowl. Add the oil, oat milk and honey and mix well.

3. Mash two bananas finely with a fork and also add to the mixture in the bowl. You can add crushed chocolate pieces, nuts or raisins if you like.

4. Whisk the mixture, then pour the batter into the loaf pan. Smooth out the surface.

5. Cut the remaining banana into pieces, then press the banana pieces into the dough from above.

6. Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes. After switching off the oven, let it rest with the oven door open.

Others believe modern day banana bread was developed by companies in the food industry to promote flour and soda products.
